Contests:

I.- Each category will be evaluated, judged and awarded independently from the rest, which means that there will be 6 first prizes (one per category).

II.- All of this competition's categories are based on the following rules, even if it's possible for each category to have further rules of its own.

III.- IT'S MANDATORY READING THE RULES IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE TO THE COMPETITION. Each person who wishes to sign up for a category shall read both the general rules and the further specific rules for the category he/she wants to sign up for.

IV.- All participants will have to present their artworks together with the following personal data: Name, Surname(s) and pass number.

V.- Participating to any of the categories implies the acceptance of its rules.

 

AUTHORS:
1.- People of all nationalities are allowed to participate to this competition. If the participant is a minor not emancipated in his country, he will have to provide KLZ EVENTS with an authorization signed by his legal representatives (tutors/parents) in order to participate to this competition.

2.- It's possible to present a project realized in collaboration with co-authors; however, only one prize will be awarded for each project, independently from if the project has been realized by one single author or more.

3.- Authors and co-authors participating to this competition undertakes to not presenting their project to any other competition until the results of this one have been announced.

4.- Each author may present a maximum of two artworks per category.

 

ARTWORKS:
5.- The size of each presented artwork will be given through the rules of each category.

6.- Each artwork must be original work made by the author or co-authors presenting it.

7.- None of the artworks presented to this competition must have been awarded in any previous competition.

8.- The central theme of all artworks must be themes connected with the show.

The sending, as per a few categories, will have to be done through regular mail to the following address:

If the sending was not possible, high quality pictures will be required in order to be able to correctly evaluate the artwork.
However, it's always better to physically have the artwork available for thorough examination.

 

PRIZE:
11.- Only one artwork per category will be awarded, with it being considered the first prized of the category

12.- If there is no artwork for any of the categories, or if the judges doesn't consider any of the submittedartworks worthy of the prize, it will be possible not to assign any prize to that category

13.- All prizes for all categories will be handed by one of the guests.

14.- The physical prizes are still to be determined.

 

CESSION OF REPRODUCTION AND EXHIBITION'S RIGHTS:
15.- The best artworks in each category will be exhibited on the convention's grounds during its duration, not only the winning ones. We ask for all participants to bring their artworks and give them to our staff on Friday (registration day). The participation to the competition implies that the author or co-authors grant reproduction and exhibition's rights to KLZ EVENTS for the aforementioned exhibition.

16.- KLZ EVENTS will have reproduction rights on the winning entries, and will be allowed to use them to promote both the company and the event: Rising Con, using the media they will consider suitable, although the authorship of the artworks will always be recognized and belong to their authors.

 

DEADLINES:
17.- The deadline for the artworks' submission will begin on May 1 2010 and end on October 1 2011, which means that only those artworks which email's or postcard sending date is March 1 2011 at the latest will be considered valid and will enter the competition.

18.- The jury's decision, which is final, will be announced at the end of the TwiNightCon, 6th of  November 2011.

19.- The award may be declared void.

20.- The original non-winning artworks will be returned at the end of the convention, the copies printed by KLZ EVENTS won't since they may be destroyed at the end of the competition.

 

JURY:
21.- The jury will consist of professionals in each category, as well as members of the organization and objective jury.

22.- The name and other information regarding the members of the jury won't be released under any condition.

Contest: Music and Movies

All of those artworks which are considered related to Music and Movies will belong to this category.

VIDEOS or original short films, parodies, performances based on or inspired by films or books (FANVIDS, ie videos or video montages from the series, WON'T BE ACCEPTED, since these clips have their own category.)

MUSIC composed or performed by the author or co-authors, based on, inspired by or reinterpreting films or books.

 

RULES OF THE CATEGORY:
A1 .- All artworks in this category must meet the general rules of the competition.

A2 .- The artworks will be presented in audio or video clips in digital format (namely. Avi,. Mpg,. Wmp,. Mp3,. Wav,. Mp4.) via e-mail to: contests@klzevents.com. If the artworks exceed the maximum weight admitted by the email provider (ie 10MB) it will be the author's responsibility to upload the video or audio on his own server and then attach the link to the e-mail. They may also upload their artworks on data servers as MEGAUPLOAD or RAPIDSHARE.

Contests: Illustration, Painting and Sculpting.

Among the categories of works that are considered related to Illustration, Painting and Sculpture.

ILLUSTRATION both traditional and digital techniques. Entries must be inspirations, interpretations, or parody of films and books.

PAINTING, both traditional and digital techniques. Entries must be inspirations, interpretations, or parody of films and books.

SCULPTURE, both traditional and digital techniques (3D). Entries must be inspirations, interpretations, or parody of films and books.

 

BASIS OF RATING:
B1 .- All works in this category must meet the general bases.

B2 .- Presentation of works:
For digital works, will present all in. 300dpi RGB jpg and a size of 303x426mm (A3 bloody 3mm) to e-mail: contests@klzevents.com.

For works in traditional techniques, but sculpture, the work should be photographed in the high category and attach a. 300dpi RGB jpg and a size of 303x426mm (A3 bloody 3mm. If the work permits will be accepted scans it). ) E-mail: contests@klzevents.com

Traditional technique to sculpture, it must send the original works of a size not exceeding 40cm in height and 30 cm wide at the following address:

Contest: Literature

All of those artworks which are considered related to Literature will belong to this category. The artworks shall be inspired by, based on or parody of films or books.

 

RULES OF THE CATEGORY:
C1 .- All artworks in this category must meet the general rules.

C2 .- The artworks have no minimum length, but the maximum length will be 5,000 words.

C3 .- Literary works may only be submitted in English or Spanish.

C4 .- The artworks shall be sent in digital format:. Doc or. Pdf to the following e-mail address: contests@klzevents.com.

 

Contest: Graphic Art

All of those artworks which are considered related to graphic art will belong to this category. Examples of related artworks:
POSTERS
FLYERS
WALLPAPERS
BANNERS
BILLBOARDS
The artworks shall be inspired by, based on or parody of films or books.

D1.- All artworks in this category must meet the general rules.

Contest: Crafts

Among the categories of works that are considered related to the Crafts and do not fall into the category of illustration, painting and sculpture, above.

All of those videos and montages made using chapters and scenes from the movies will belong to this category.

These videos may include music, both belonging to the show or not (we remind our participants that slash themes and undertones are forbidden).
